TheĀ Contract Management Tool (CMT) is a system that manages the full lifecycle of a contract, from the contract request through the end of the contract term.

The CMT is a component of buyND+ that can be used for a wide variety of contracts across campus.

Why is the CMT used?

The CMT was configured in partnership with the Office of General Counsel to be the default system for contracts to be reviewed, negotiated, and signed.

  • Provides a centralized repository of contracts
  • Allows access to contracts from across campus for auditing purposes
  • Ensures consistent contracts with our vendors
  • Tracks lifespan of contracts, and allows for easier renewal of expiring contracts
When should the CMT be used?

The CMT should be used for:

  • Any contract between the University and an outside party
When should the CMT not be used?

The CMT should not be used for:

  • Internal contracts (between Notre Dame departments)
  • Contracts reviewed by Notre Dame Research
  • Faculty Hiring
  • Student employment
  • Student events
