About Procurement Services

Author: Michael Hudson

Procurement Services utilizes the Strategic Sourcing Methodology to support the University’s purchasing and supplier engagement through key platforms, including buyND+ (Jaggaer), contractsND (Jaggaer), and travelND+ (Concur). Our responsibilities are organized across four core areas:

Auxiliary Team: Administers University contracts, processes requisitions to ensure compliance with federal and institutional requirements, performs Requests for Quotes, and provides outstanding customer service through helpdesk support.

Bridging to Business: Orchestrates the integration of local and small businesses into the University’s supply chain. By championing diverse sourcing initiatives and lowering barriers to entry, this role aligns campus procurement needs with community-based solutions to drive sustainable growth.

Business Operations: Maximizes organizational efficiency through the management and continuous improvement of the buyND+ and travelND+ platforms. The team engineers advanced metrics and reporting frameworks to drive strategic outcomes, facilitate data-driven decision-making, and support the Strategic Sourcing Methodology.

Sourcing Team: Executes the 9-step Strategic Sourcing Methodology, which includes requests for proposals, quotes, information, and leading negotiations to ensure the University receives optimal pricing and service terms, achieving the best value for our stakeholders. They facilitate supplier relationships to ensure quality service across all partnerships. By standardizing the procurement process, the team identifies and mitigates risk for the University.
